On the Bioko island, 50 km south of Malabo you will find an amazing place called Ureka. Ureka’s natural jewels include the spectacular waterfalls of the Eoli River as well as the stunning beaches of Moraka and Moaba.
During the dry season in Moraka and Moaba, turtles come to shore to lay their eggs. Since 1996 the villagers have worked as guards to patrol the beaches during nesting season, as part of an NGO protection project. When you’re not sunning yourself on the beaches, there are excellent opportunities for hiking in the nearby jungle.
