20.06.2016 The Oil and Gas Council 2016 Africa Assembly, an influential event for corporate development, strategy, finance and investment in Africa’s oil and gas industry, was hosted on 20 – 21 June 2016, at Lancaster Hotel, in London.

The event brought together over 800 executives from around the globe to identify and discuss new corporate development and investment opportunities in Africa as well as key issues related to management strategies, practices and operations.

With the aim of inviting oil and gas explorers to bid on a range of prospective acreages, including some unexplored blocks, Equatorial Guinea took part in the Assembly with a senior delegation lead by HE Mr Gabriel Mbega OBIANG LIMA, Minister of Mines, Industry and Energy; HE Mrs Mari-Cruz EVUNA ANDEME, Ambassador of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to the United Kingdom; Mr Leoncio Amada NZE NLANG, General Director of Relations with State’s Oil and Gas Companies and Mr. Oscar GARCÍA BERNIKO, General Director of National Content.

The bidding schedule had its official opening on 6th June, 2016. The evaluations of bids will take place on 13th January 2017, concluding license negotiations in June 2017. Companies interested in participation in this 2016 oil and gas blocks licensing round will need to provide information on the following: main activities, management experience, assets structure and liabilities, existing work plans and financial position, as part of a pre-qualification process.
