Many African authorities were present  in Berlin, to take part in this important event; all of them intending to attract German investment to their respective countries. The event featured the figure of Thomas Boni Yayi, ex-president of the Republic of Benin, who, in addition to presenting the huge opportunity for German investment on the African continent, also gave a special mention in his speech to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and its Minister for Mines and Hydrocarbons, praising the great work which is being carried out, both in the sector, and in its desire to attract investors to other sectors in the Equatoguinean economy.

For his part, Gabriel Mbega Obiang Lima, in his speech, pointed out to those present the great opportunities in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea because, in the last twenty years, it has been the perfect model for foreign investment. Protected by special legislation, mineral, petroleum, agricultural and livestock resources in full growth, in addition to many other sectors which are still to be explored and developed, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea can provide the world with a guarantee of economic growth, an opportunity for the German entrepreneur.

These days, German investment in Africa is around 60,000 million dollars annually, against the 200,000 million dollars invested by the People’s Republic of China, and this figure is expected to double by the end of the decade. For that reason, in the words of the minister, this is the right moment, the perfect opportunity for Germany to take a step forward and invest in Africa. Equatorial Guinea, due to its strategic location, its large gas projects in development, blocks which are free of exploration, etc. opens the doors to all German investors.

Along the same lines, the minister presented all the projects currently being executed in the hydrocarbons and gas sector, and welcomed all German companies to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
