Equatorial Guinea presents at the World Travel Market in London

Enjoy Equatorial Guinea, sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in the UK, took a stand at the prestigious World Travel Market 2014, which ran from the 1st to the 4th of November. It was the first time that Equatorial Guinea had been represented at the Travel Market and the primary purpose of attending the event was to inform and enlighten people as to what Equatorial Guinea has to offer as a tourist destination. A large screen played films provided by Guineatur, BBBP, Sofitel and the Equatorial Guinea Bird Initiative. The stand was decorated with banners of the ‘Enjoy Equatorial Guinea’ logo and photographs of Equatorial Guinea. Pof-pofs and other snacks from the country were also served.

The Embassy provided a lavishly illustrated brochure and several fact sheets including hotels, restaurants, clubs, local providers including details of all airlines operating in and out of Equatorial Guinea, tour operators, embassies in Equatorial Guinea, tourist attractions and general information.AmbEvunaQatar

In addition, key people visiting the stand were given an Enjoy Equatorial Guinea gift bags, containing a branded T-shirt, umbrella and pen. Key-rings and magazines provided by Ceiba International were also given out to the stand’s visitors.

There was a high level of interest from all sectors, requesting information on what Equatorial Guinea has to offer tourists and a desire from all those visiting the stand to know more about the country. Over 500 people visited the stand over the four day event, including visits from two of the main world travel guide books: Lonely Planet and Brandt Travel Guides.

A number of key travel and music journalists also visited the stand and expressed their enthusiasm for visiting the country.EEG
