Equatoguinean citizens in the UK take part in the Presidential Elections

EGVote5The Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea welcomed the Equatoguinean population in the UK, Ireland and Sweden on Sunday 24th April 2016, to exercise their right to vote in the Presidential Elections.

These elections were held in a peaceful, orderly and respectful atmosphere by the population in its entirety.

Six candidates from the political parties namely, Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), Centre-Right Union (UCD), Party of the Social Democratic Coalition (CSPD), Peoples’ Democratic Alliance (ADP) and two Independent Candidates were put forward in these elections.

Forty electoral postings were also opened to nationals in the diaspora, including the Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in London.

Presidential Elections this weekend

flagAs the date of the Presidential Elections, 24 April, approaches, the preparations are nearing completion. 1,357 electoral tables are being installed through the country in addition to the 40 in Diplomatic Missions abroad.

This Embassy will therefore open its doors to all Equatoguinean nationals to exercise their right to vote on 24 April 2016. The opening hours will be: 08.00 to 20.00.

Nationals are advised to bring along the following documentation:

  1. Valid passport or
  2. Valid National Identification Card
  3. Electoral Card or
  4. Census Stub
