The Embassy of Equatorial Guinea to host the Africa Day in London
The Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland will host the Africa Day celebration in London on 25 May 2016, under the theme “Female Rights and Equality”.
Africa Day commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (now known as the African Union) on 25th May 1963. It acknowledges the progress that we, as Africans, have made, while reflecting upon the common challenges we face in a global environment.
In order to celebrate African unity and culture, this year’s celebration program will consist of an interesting variety of entertainment and content, traditional music and dance performances to honour our continent’s rich heritage, as well as speeches from remarkable guests, both from the Continent and from the United Kingdom.
